About Us
My name is Shalinda and I am the founder and creator of Ember and Ivy. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, along with a Reading Specialist Certification. I am also a Certified Dyslexia Practitioner trained in the Science of Reading and the Wilson Reading Program which has equipped me with specialized expertise in literacy instruction. I am passionate about supporting learners in developing strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
Our Services
At Ember & Ivy Literacy, we take the guesswork out of learning to read. Our sessions use the Science of Reading and proven Orton-Gillingham methods to build a rock-solid foundation for every student. By focusing on the “why” behind sounds, letters, and spelling, we help children move past frustration to achieve true reading fluency and writing confidence. Each virtual session is interactive and tailored to your child’s unique pace, turning literacy challenges into mastery and self-assurance.
